Following is a response CPAC received regarding the previous post “Centennial Park polygamists focus on family”:
Jarod,
I don’t know if you happened to see it or not, but in Saturday’s Spectrum there was an article about Centennial Park that I really felt did justice to your flock. In the past often times I have heard “us” referred as Gentiles, among other reference’s of those who do not adhere to your spiritual beliefs, but I just wanted you to know that I personally feel that those of you that I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with, as well as befriend, have only added positive things to my own life and beliefs. I have the utmost respect for you, your beliefs, and your commitment to Our Lord. Seldom does one take the time to share these kind of things, but I have been thinking about it ever since I saw and read that article. Zitting Bros have been a glimmering light for me, given the sub-contract base I have dealt with in the Hotel, and as well as a wonderful, upbeat, get it done type of organization, I have thanked Brian Gear repeatedly for his recommendation of you for framing, and it has been a wonderful experience for me personally to befriend you, your brothers, your lead men, Ephraim Docksteder, and the few others that share your beliefs, and your commitments to the professional approach to business.
Just thought I would take the time to pass along this, as I often thank God for the little things like this that come into my life on a daily basis. I guess being grateful is so much more rewarding than being stressed and negative.
Thanks for all that you folks do.
Steve
What a very nice person. Something that impressed me about the comments Steve made, was the reference he made to being called Gentiles, among other things. It is beneficial to be reminded that name calling can be insenitive and hurtful, as we all should know.
It is also important to me that some of our men are recognized for their integrity and industry. We at CPAC seldom speak of the great husbands and fathers in our community, because there is so much resentment against them. We have tried to speak out in our committee about ourselves and our children, that we are here by choice and love plural marriage and our religion. We have been taught our beliefs, that’s true, but it has been through the teaching of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, Heber C. Kimball, Joseph F. Smith, George Q. Cannon, and other Prophets of God, not brainwashing. Each person must come to this decision by themselves.
