The following is a true story. I am sharing it to show the color and joy of living in a large plural family, to which I can attest, having been born the 9th child of my mother into the loving arms of a 63 year old father. This note, written by a 17 year old fine young man, was attached to the laundry room door of a large “plural” family (names have been changed for privacy reasons):
My Dear Household Companions,
One fateful day last week I attempted to do my laundry. I did this in complete ignorance-not knowing the horrific events that were about to unfold. It was about 3 P.M, just another afternoon doing my chores. I was sorting laundry- lights, darks, delicates, etc. It being my common practice to do the deli’s last, I placed them in MY laundry basket, and continued to wash the other batches of clothing. I left for a short period of time… little did I know this was the last time I would ever see my 2 shirts again.
Upon my return I found my laundry basket empty! I felt beads of sweat crawling down my neck, my hair stood up, it seemed as though my entire body was frozen to the ground in shock. In my panicked daze I ruthlessly searched the laundry room for my prized possessions. Opening washers and dryers, doors and drawers finding nothing besides “Do Not Dry”, notes, when suddenly, it hit me.
SOMEONE HAD TAKEN THEM!
Like a crazed boar I chased people down and barked questions into their face. Sam being first, Annie second, Joe, Richard and Zach third. But no one knew where they were. Upon talking to other of my siblings, I felt a lump growing in my throat, tears beginning to swell into my eyes. I tried to hold back my utter despair, but I could not. To this day the pain of my missing clothes still haunts me, and I ask all of you to help me mend this broken heart, and return to me………*pause for dramatic effect* what was once lost.
Missing garments:
- Grey American Eagle T-shirt
- Dark blue old Navy pullover
If you have these items or have any leads to where they might be, please contact me, in the west wing of the 2nd floor, the first room on the left.

Love it!! Thanks for sharing – brightened my whole day 🙂
giggle..I get it I do
You can ban me all you want, but there is NOTHING in the bible that sanctions polygamy. Must be nice for a man to have 4 wives,(maybe he needs 7, for every day of the week, huh?). This guy from sister wives has got it made. A different piece of tail every night, 3 extra incomes, a nice clean house, and a brand new Lexus to go search for yet another poor idiot to join his sick little harem. What a deal!!! I am ashamed of women like you. You are being made fools of every day of your life, and setting a horrible example for your children. I stand by my comment. You should ALL be in jail for bigamy and child abuse.
