The following is an interesting opinion regarding Jillian Keenan’s “Legalize Polygamy!” article in Slate. It is written by Peter Lawler.
The world is only now catching up with an article I wrote in the Spring, 1981 for the Memphis State University Law Review entitled, “Polygamy and the Right to Marry: New Life for an Old Lifestyle,” where I argued that plural marriage ought to be legalized to prevent women and children from being coerced into marriage, as they are in some religious cults. This article has been cited in polygamy discussions on the web and in academic articles.
The Constitutional right to form a plural family has better legal support than gay marriage. There is no rational basis for legislation that legalizes gay marriage, but not plural marriage. The right to marry more than one wife or husband is independent of personal religious beliefs and is equally open to all.
I’m born in Christian family. With strictly rules. Pretty much the same that you see on the TV series. For younger guys don’t date, wait for God provide you with a wife. Don’t be out after 10pm, I believe in big families, that serve God.
And prosper and prepare future generations to serve God purposes to us in this earth.
And guess what the show has all that Good people that love GOD , their family, and are deep involved in raising good kids.
Their are Happy
So the state and the government that says on your constitution we the people, should be in favor of the people.
And let people raise their family s in peace.
